Our goal is to provide a comfortable and restful place for busy people to relaxand enjoy the quiet beauty of nature and amenities of Northwest Oklahoma. We offer luxury accommodations and good food, in a country setting of trees and pastures. The Chaparral Guesthouse and Retreat is a 4-bedroom, 4-bath home situated on 15 acres of wooded land with mature oak, ceder, redbud and various other native trees. Activities you can enjoy at the Retreat are birdwatching, hiking under a canopy of shade or in an open meadow, or just sitting on the patio or porch to enjoy sunrise, sunset, squirrels frolicking, and somtimes strolling wildlife (rabbits, deer, even roadrunner!). During a hike through the woods, you will be surprised by an outburst of color provided by wildflowers and irises. The original building was a residence owned by the community dentist, which he built and lived in for 50 years. The main house has three rentable bedrooms. There is a comfortable common room for reading or listening to music, or just watching the wildlife through the picture window. A roomy front porch offers evening views of the sunset across a wide horizon through the trees. There are several hiking trails cut through the woods offering beauty and solitude in the "back country." The owners live on-site at one end of the house in a suite separate from the rentable bedrooms. The main season for B&B business in this area is from March through October, and winter month occupancy is also available. The Chaparral Guesthouse is an easy drive from Oklahoma City and four hours from metropolitan Dallas, making it a good weekend getaway destination. |
